Wadah Khanfar announces former head of CBC News, was moving over to Al Jazeera, Jihad!

Thu, 15 May 2008 06:35:57 PDT
Wadah Khanfar, director general of the Al-Jazeera network, announced Burman’s appointment as managing editor on Wednesday. There’s the lefty Media Bias again, heres hoping he ends up with a fatwah. Or Al Battar gets him. When I received word that Tony Burman, the former head of CBC News, was moving over to Al Jazeera, I thought it was a spoof. Alas, I’m wrong. Burman follows Avi Lewis to the jihadist propaganda arm. I wonder how much back-pay they’ll get? http://ezralevant.com/2008/

Every new baseball season brings with it a collection of surprise stories, including the rise of an unknown, the sinking of a touted rookie, and the resurgence of a forgotten veteran. Almost two months into the 2008 baseball calendar, these surprise stories start to look less like statistical aberrations and more like lasting trends.

Weapons Grade Porpoise

Sun, 18 May 2008 22:48:55 PDT
This week’s HipTrax podcast (on Wired’s GeekDad blog) features my song Weapons Grade Porpoise. The whole episode is worth checking out, it’s just the right length. This week’s theme is instrumental songs by nerds, check it out here. Weapons Grade Porpoise is one of the instrumental’s off of my new album Me Geek Pretty One Day. One of the things I really like about this particular track is that it was one of the first instrumentals I wrote that sort of tells a story. Of course I never expected

Operating systems seem to have received more attention these days than they have ever before, and while there are numerous available discussion points, in relation to new versions of these operating systems, one of the biggest trends that has been fascinating to watch is how people are switching operating systems like crazy.

William McGonagall outsells Harry Potter

Sun, 18 May 2008 19:31:35 PDT
If you have ever heard of the name William McGonagall, I would probably wager that it was in a negative sense. Nearly every news clipping I have read of this famous (or perhaps infamous) Dundee poet has been to slate the quality of his works. I have heard him named “Dundee’s worst bard” and in serious condemnation “Scotland’s worst poet”.

One of the most popular trends in home security today is the installation of wireless alarm systems. Before you jump on the bandwagon, though, you should know a little more about how these systems work, as well as the benefits (and drawbacks) to this technology.

Outrageous Quote of the Week 5/17/08

Sun, 18 May 2008 22:35:14 PDT
In a karmic coincidence Dick Morris took the same percentage of the vote last week as Hillary Clinton did in WV, for this little warning shot: "The determinant in the election will be if we believe that Barack Obama is what he appears to be, or is he somebody who's sort of a sleeper agent who really doesn't believe in our system and is more aligned with Wright's views." Look for this week's nominees after the jump. Option A: "Now that the wheels are coming off of Al Gore's global warming bandw
